Chris Beer, Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager, Global Equities

Chris Beer is the Portfolio Manager for the RBC Global Precious Metals and RBC Global Resource Funds. Chris works closely with the other portfolio managers at RBC to analyze current and prospective resource holdings. He is a member of the Canadian and Global Equities Committees and is the coordinator for resource research and allocation.
Chris has more than sixteen years of experience researching and analyzing the natural resource sector with a focus on precious metals and mining companies. His combination of investment industry experience and four years experience as a field geologist provide a strong complementary perspective to the analysis of resource-based companies.
Chris joined RBC Asset Management in 2000. He graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelor of Science in geology. He also earned a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) in finance from the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Chris earned his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1996.
