Dan Chornous, Chief Investment Officer, RBC Asset Management Inc., Investment Policy Committee (IPC)

On November 1st, 2002, Dan joined RBC Asset Management Inc. (RBC AM) as Chief Investment Officer. In this capacity, Dan chairs the RBC Investment Strategy Committee and is responsible for the overall direction of investment policy and fund management within RBC AM, the investment management arm of RBC Financial Group.
Dan brings with him over 20 years of experience in the investment industry. In 1980, he began his career as an analyst with The Great West Life Assurance Company in Winnipeg, where he held various positions before being appointed Director, Common Stock Investments. He moved to Toronto in 1987 to join the Canadian Trend and Cycle Department at RBC Dominion Securities (RBC DS).
More recently, Dan was Managing Director of Research and Chief Strategist at RBC Capital Markets. In this role, Dan was responsible for chairing the RBC DS Investment Strategy Committee as well as the firm’s top down research including its global economic quantitative technical research teams.
A native of Winnipeg, Dan graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
