Funds Managed:

James O'Shaughnessy is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of O'Shaughnessy Asset Management L.L.C. ("OSAM"). Prior to founding OSAM, Jim was the Director of Systematic Equity as well as Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns Asset Management. OSAM currently manages $11 billion in separately managed accounts and mutual funds for individual investors and institutions. Sub-advisor to the RBC O'Shaughnessy Funds. Recognized as a leading expert and pioneer in quantitative equity analysis, Jim has written many best-selling books: Invest Like the Best (1994), What Works on Wall Street (2005), How to Retire Rich (1998), and Predicting the Markets of Tomorrow (2006). Barron's calls him a "statistical guru" and "world-beater" and Higher Returns said he is "one of the most original market thinkers we've come across."

In developing his investment strategies, Jim adheres to these three guidelines:

  • Test an investment strategy for as long a period of time as possible.
  • Clearly define the factors used to select stocks and why.
  • Remain disciplined and consistent-never stray from the strategy.

Born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, Jim studied International Economics and Business Diplomacy at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and has a degree in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
