Marty Balch, Senior Portfolio Manager, Global Fixed Income and Currencies

Marty Balch is a Senior Portfolio Manager in the Fixed Income group and a senior member of the Credit Team. Marty's primary responsibilities as part of the Credit Team include the day-to-day management of the corporate debt across all RBC AM mandates with credit exposure and contributing to the setting of the overall Credit strategy for RBC AM. Marty is responsible for the monitoring and approval of credits in the Telecommunications, Financials, Metals and Mining, Energy, and regulated Utility sectors. Marty is a member of the Fixed Income Strategy Committee and the Credit sub-committee.
Before joining RBC AM in March 2000, Marty worked for six years in the investment area at the Canada Life Assurance Company with over three years experience covering Investment Grade U.S. Corporate companies and analysing U.S. Private Placement transactions.
Marty graduated from the University of Toronto in 1991 and is a CFA charter holder (1997).
